Come Saturday I am going to change the oil on the Cavalier for the first time (bought it not to long ago) It is bone stock with 150k miles but it does not leak a thing just burns oil (2 quarts every 4k or so). I am looking at that quaker state high mileage stuff and a few others in hopes of sealing it up some. For the plugs I think they are the stock plugs. I think I will just upgrade to the basic platnums since I am looking for MPG with this car and not performance and I liked them on the camaro.
Your toughts?

Oil is oil in my opinion. Companies that put High Mileage on the label is just their way to push it through to the consumer, and make them think it's making a difference in the engine....NOT.
If you have that many things that are stock in a 150k engine, you'll need to change just about everything that has to do with a tuneup. If you suspect any part has been under the hood for more than 50k miles, replace them.
If I had that car, I'd:
Check the brakes and tires, change spark plugs and wires, change the oil and filter, air filter, fuel filter, seafoam it, change the battery, regrease the front end, and put a new transmission filter in. But that's just me...

I am way ahead of ya man. Air filter is brand new, battery is, plugs, tires, brakes. Fuel filter, oil and oil filter, coolant, all will be new soon its just that I don't have the time to do it all at once so I am dooing it a little at a time. I also need to figure out what front and rear suspension part is clunking around. Im no expert on what oil is good for higher mileage engines, I do know there are a few differences. This is why the Buick has a synthetic blend and the Porsche has the Mobil 1 performance driving stuff

Don't forget the hoses and coolant as they both break down and if you have a GM dealer nearby, they can change out the ATF without removing your tranny (including the t/c). Unfortunately, they do not change the filter with this operation.

THat way we know it is done right :D
