  • Help manufacturing a Throttle Body Spacer

    Okay guys, here's the deal:

I want to make a throttle body spacer since I cna't find any that are for sale anymore for our cars (98 3.8 Camaro). I definitely want to use it for a coolant bypass/return as well as add a couple of extensions for n2o solenoid mounting and possible tap this thing for a wet kit install.

How thick should I make this and what type of material should I use? I don't know anybody in plastics or resins but I have conatacts in the metal working field. I'm thinking aluminum (what type I don't know) or titanium.

I unfortunately don't have my car with me at the moment, but thinking I need a piece approximately 8" x 8" to allow enough room for the size of the TB and a couple of 3" extensions on either side (for the solenoid mounts). I'm unsure as to how thick is too thick (or not thick enough).

Also, I know someone makes a set of longer bolts but unsure of where to get them.

Anyway, if any of you can help please feel free to leave advice!

    ;)

well the reason people don't like to use metal is because it conducts heat and one of the man reasons for having a spacer is to insulate the throttle body from the hot intake..

    just something to think about..
