I talked to a mechanic today about my car misfiring and running bad. Well he informed me the on the 98-00 v6's that chevy had a recall on the #2 and #6 spark plug wires. This is the cause for most misfiring in our cars he said. So if yall have a misfiring problem try changing just the plug wires and see if that fixes it. It did mine. Well i thought i would just add my little bit of knowlege about something.

      Sounds like a good plan....except my car is a '94, not a '98-00 lol.

The same recall is good on 97's, but the mileage restriction is 75k. I had mine done last year.

It says the cut off is 70,000 miles. Also I don't have any problems with misfires....could I get them changed for free since I have a 97

They will only change ones that are acting up. If you have nothing wrong, they won't change them for free.

I think this varies by dealership. Not only did they change all 6 wires, but also a coil pack, they charged me nothing.
