  • Has anyone had this speedometer problem?

I was driving along today doing about 35mph and when I shifted gears the speedometer went to 0 for about two seconds than slowly crept back up to the current speed. This occurs all the time now whenever I shift to another gear. My ABS/INOP light went on the day before too so anyone know how they'd be related?

This sounds like a charging problem. Get your battery and alternator checked out. I would bet that one of the two are bad.

Since your cars are still running it is probably the battery.

it all depends on how long it's been doing this, the alternator may have a loose connection.

ABS INOP light has something to do with your 3rd brake light bulbs going out.

Actually, maybe the VSS (Vehicle speed sensor) is going out, dropping the signal to the speedo and making the ABS system confused because it's reading a signal off of the ABS sensor at the wheels, but getting no reference speed from the VSS. Maybe?

Well I shall check the VSS when I get my car worked on. Im getting a SLP LSD put in this week.

I will also check out the alternator. My Alternator is stock, but my car only has 51,200 miles.

Anyone else have some sort of input?
