  • Idle Question

Don't know if this is the right place, since any of my post ever get answered, but here goes. When my car is cold, like first thing in the mornings, when I start, it idles really rough. Almost sounds like it has a beast of a cam in it. Happens cold or hot weather, humid or dry. I changed spark plugs, oil, all the basic fluids and tune up essentials. Anyone have an idea what causes this. After it warms up, it runs normal, no rough idle at all.

Its a 2000 camaro, A4, SLP CAI, Whisper Lid, Flowmaster 80 series, High Flow Cat, 3" Exhaust.

3.73 Gears and B&M Shift Kit are getting installed in 2 weeks when I return from Chicago.

Oh if anyone wants to chill in chicago let me know, I will be there for a week, leaving monday. Breakfast and Dinner and open bar through out the week on the hotel. Let me know.

Well I guess with a few years of age, 100K miles on it, could be normal, just started about 2 months ago though.

        Thanks

If your not getting any SES lights, then I would take the TB apart and clean it and seafoam the intake system. There is alot of buildup over the miles that gets in there and can cause havoc. Also, have your IAC Sensor checked (if you have one). They can cause some minor idle problems when they get dirty.
My car doesn't hesitate at all, no matter what temperature, season, humidity level, etc. It starts solid, and runs solid. The only time I had a minor split-second hesitiation is when the car sat for 1 1/2 months without running.
Just offering the best info I can think of. But be careful! Tearing the TB assembly apart can get a little involved, and try not to tackle something that you wouldn't have any idea how to fix, if and when problems arise.
