my driver side window stopped going up recently. i wanted to buy a new one on ebay and fix it myself. am i only going to need a new motor or do i have to buy other parts to change motors? is it going to be easy or should i just get it professionally done?

its not that hard. I had to replace my passenger side window motors last year and it took like 2 hours or so, just take apart the door panel and then u have to drill the old motor out and screw the new one in. I have to replace my driver side one this week because it also went out. Cost is like 55 dollars from autozone.com. there was site that I used for directions, but it has been removes so you might just have to search under google for detailed directions.
