I was driving the other day and noticed a new noise coming from my car. I have a 5 speed V6 3.8. Its a rotating/churning noise it increases and decreases with acceleration. even when i role in neutral i hear the same noise as it is in gear. AT 65 in 5th it is louder than the radio. A buddy of mine said it might be my gears going bad? What do you think. It is coming from the rear. I also had a new clutch put in about a month ago. Thanks Coleman

Do you have a limited slip?
Have you changed your diff fluid recently?
I would recommend starting with a differential fluid change. Go with a good synthetic, I think Valvoline makes some. When you pull the diff cover off see if you have significant metal flake inside the housing. If you do you're grinding gears.
