Basically you wouldn't want to be shifting into 5th. The limit of 4th is 117, so unless you went faster than that, which I doubt, you'd be fine.

If you jack up the rear of your car and spin one tire in neutral:

Opposite tire spins in the opposite direction = open diff.

Opposite tire spins in same direction = LSD.

i just checked the codes, I've got 3.08 gears and no Lsd.

First mods: 4.10s and LSD. [img]smile.gif[/img]

Oh yeah, and a program to recalibrate the speedo.

What about things like a tranny cooler and a stall converter?

if you have an auto and get 4.10s it is recommended that you get an aftermarket tranny cooler because it will heat up your tranny alot more because you will be in higher rpms more often. A stall convertor will get your car off the line ALOT quicker, I'd recommend it if I were you. Prolly 3200 stall, since you aren't gonna race it much.

This may sound dumb, but make sure it is well maintained. I have put alot of work into my car and noticed huge power gains since I bought and all I've done so far was just fix and replace what was needed on my badly neglected car. After all, cold air intake and exhaust wont do much if your O2 sensors are totally shot and your plug wires are so old and brittle they're beginning to crack. Just look it over and make sure every thing is in perfect working order. I would have never dreamed my car would be as quick as it is now the day I first got it.

Yea i am really interested in these 4.10 gears and LSD. I have flowmaster 80's and a K&n cold air intake, will these gears make my ride even more beefy? Where can i get these bad boys the cheapest? Texas speed and performance has them for $188.99 how much is LSD and where can i find it?

I feel stupid asking this but i don;t know a whole lot about cars and **** but i recently am getting to know them better, if i were to get these gears, how do i install them? Or do i have to take them somewhere to get installed? Also what company makes good 4.10 gears? Motive and Pinion are two i have seen on ebay.

id say take the car to a shop and have them installed if you dont know what youre doing. richmond makes nice gears.
