  • What do these scans mean ?

    New to the software. Fixed code 303 still have a 420. Car will go into closed loop. It runs good but there is a large difference in bank 1 and bank 2 fuel trim. You see a O2 bad? Had to find a place to post pics so disreguard the pic of my goat :)

    Which O2s go where. That way I do not guess.

      B1S1 = Left manifold
      B2S1 = Right manifold

      B1S2 = Pre-cat
      B1S3 = Post-cat

      When did you fix P0303? If cylinder 3 was misfiring (as evident by P0303), it would be dumping alot of raw fuel into the left side. This would explain why the LTFT on bank 1 is showing a rich condition.

      Those scans all show open loop, which means the O2s are being ignored. The later scans show the sensors on each bank are at the same values, which should be normal. But if the car is in open loop, it's not going to use the sensor to trim the fuel back to normal.

        I have a shot of the car after the fix. Coil pack replaced. On lap top will send the to Yahoo pics when I get home. The trim went to Bank 1 -15, and bank 2 +5 and was in closed loop.

          You may also want to unhook the battery for a while so that the car can learn it all from scratch.

            I was just about ready to change coil pack. Here are the shots with coil pack changed.

            http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/jeep461/my_photos

            the trim changed but the spread was about the same.It went into closed loop. Any idea what normal trim should be?

            I puchased the software to help trouble shoot the car. Trying to do it manually is not fun. I am new to the software. I had 2 coil packs bad. 2 & 5 and 3 & 6. The 2& 5 were the start of the problem. 3 and 6 had no drivability problems. It has a high flow cat but did not set a 420 before its problems. Now it is here to stay, maybe. The cat took a dose of raw fuel while out of town. Wife said MIL light started flashing at her.

            I thought about replacing the cat and maybe putting an o2 sim but want to make sure the problem is not other related. I bought this car at auction about 4 months ago and wife claimed it. I have about all the bugs worked out and service brought upto date. It is a fun toy but is not mine which is good because I just want to pull the engine and supercharge it. I am hunting a Ninja this weekend at auction. Maybe it will take my craving for speed away.

            I will try the battery disconnect and allow the computer to reset with all new readings. Then I will scan it again.
