if you remove the air baffle above your radiator it will allow hot air into your intake
do it if you want

if you have an auto you can turn up the pressure on yo auto tranny and make it shift faster (at the cost of longevity)

Well, he's partially right.

The thin black piece that covers the top of the radiator (mostly protects the airbox from contact heat) can be mistakingly cut if you don't take the airbox off when you do the cuts.

(a sadly commen occurance)

With that simple thing removed, Hot air from the radiator core is pushed into the airbox, therefore warming the incoming air, up to 5 degrees.

you can do free fram air on camaros? i did the thing where you cut the holes in the stock hood for firebirds where the nostrils are and that made a difference... dont see how it could be done on camaros though....

That's because that's how it's done. Without that, it's not free ram air.

When you're going down the road with any speed, there will be cool air blown up there from the air dam. It will not raise the temperature of the incoming air, it will lower it.

This has been a known mod for many years, why are people questioning it now?

Who's questioning the mod? If you'll examine my sig, you'll see I have a whisper lid. Basically the same thing, albeit fancier. Of course some warm air is going to get in the intake, it's on top of a freaking 250+ degree engine. lol.

Your not understanding the piece I'm talking about though. No biggie.

No, it's not even close to the same thing. They're 2 totally seperate mods. ;)

A Whisper Lid is great...it gets rid of the air silencer and removes the vanes on the bottom of the stock lid.

A Whisper Lid by itself, though, will suck in that hot air you mentioned from the engine compartment. Free Ram Air allows for the intake of cooler air from outside.
