I was just wondering if there are any modifications that I could do myself to get more power or better appereance, out of my '96 Camaro RS? I'm not talking about putting on a turbocharger or anything like that, but $10 mods that you can buy parts for at a local auto shop. I've seen some things about a throttle bypass and some other stuff but I havent found any directions or info on how to do it. If you know of any please let me know as I would like to add some extra power to my V6 and make it look cooler, without spending alot of money.

oil change? rear differential change? haha you cant do much for 10 bucks. maybe some small decals.. but you already have those.. clear corners are kinda cheap.. uhm.. plugs/wires.. but thats not 10 bucks. idk man. 10 bucks aint much to work with when it comes to modding a car. getting a new air filter wont even cover that.

Anyway, best thing you can do for your $10... ...is start saving for a CAI system... Heck I made my own and the difference was very noticable!. Just buy an Cone Airfilter, K&N works great but those ricer filters are cheaper and really don't do that bad of a job. If you're smart you can pull it off for $30 - $40 as you'll need PVC Pipe aswell...

Yea you cant buy much anymore for $10 but you never know if there is a trick mod or something. I heard somewhere that you can change the air temp. sensor on your air box to a diff. location for more hp or something. I painted my brake callipers and my wire loom for only about $5. And I made a cool battery cover, that probably cost less then $10. So i guess there are a few things that can be done for less then $10.
Yes the bottle in the back is a Bazooka tube, made to look like a Nitrous bottle. Looks pretty cool but I havent got it hooked up yet :(
I was thinking about getting CAI but I didnt think it would make much of a difference. Does it give you better gas milage?

Everything requires more than $10.. Hoses for homemade CAI', lines for TB Bypass, Tuneup parts and air filters.. Just do a little at a time. Do spark plugs. AC Delco regular 99 cent ones are fine and buy a bottle of fuel injecter/system cleaner for another $3. Then PCV Valve and air/fuel filters once you have another $10.
You can get one for about 10$, and when she leans over to peel the ol' bannana, your toes will curl, and you'll hit the gas harder than you ever thought possible.

I've heard that you can do something with the stock air box to make it better? But I'm not sure what and I couldnt find any info on it. And ideas?

These guys are being silly. There are mods that you can do it yourself. For Example,
1. Cut a coil or two out of your stock springs to give your car a lowered look. Works just the same as eibach springs.
2. Trim the Airdam below your intake lid so that it will let more air into the engine.
3. Cut-out, about 30 bucks for the ones with butterfly nuts. Get a local exhaust shop to install it for you, makes the car a lot faster. (loud as hell though)
4. Lose weight, that will always make your car faster.
5. Take out any unneeded items, I.E. back seat, spare tire, *bazooka tube*.
6. 160* Thermostat and Manual Fan switch.
7. Search junkyard for z28 take off products.
-unhook the catback after the CAT, but I suggest get a cutout not free but easy
-make an intake
-timing tricker not really worth it
-!weight is good
-cutting your springs willlower it but you will handle like ***.
-removign the drivebelt will make you faster but sort of a track only mod

Hey man thanks! I like my bazooka tube, hehe. Some kid at my school today came up to me and started to talk to me if I liked my nitrous, lol, I guess it worked [img]smile.gif[/img] He had no clue it was fake, so I just played along.
Do you know anything about the air silencer removal thingy?
I've been looking for a dual exhaust from a Z and I was going to take out my rear seats when I get some subs in there and make a custom box to fit where the seats are.
I wish I could lower my car, but driving this thing in the snow is bad enough. Thats why I cant get myself to get a body kit, it would probably get torn off if it hit a pile of snow a 1/2 foot high, lol.
