  • Shocks & Oil Pan Gasket, same time?

My front shocks are surely dead so I'm going to replace those as soon as I can afford them. I also need to change the oil pan gasket. To get the oil pan out I'm going to lower the K-member rather than lift the engine. The question is, should I do them both at the same time? If the springs & shocks are out of the car would that make it a lot easier to drop the K-member?
