  • How hard is a radiator flush?

I think its time I do this, my car gets too damn hot during the day. Ive got a 180* Thermostat, which I guess helped a lil bit, but when the gauge hits 210 the car runs crappy. I think I need to flush the system, Ive never done it. Need the info on how to do this right, plz.

just don't screw up the heater core lines. they are VERY expensive. VERY.

it might be best to take the radiator out and to a radiator shop and have them powerflush it. before you put the radiator back in remove the thermostat (so water flows) and stick a hose in the upper radiatro hose and turn the hose on full blast. let gravity run the water through the block and out the bottom hose. Do the same by removing the heater core hoses at the block (one at a time) and run water through them.

YOu can buy a flushing kit for about 5 bucks. having a shop power flush the radiator is best though. if it has a problem they can also test the flow.

when you put everything back together use RED antifreeze and don't forget proper filling procedures...bleeding the cooling system air release valve, etc.
