• Overheated! *Fixed*

I was driving around for 3 hours to see if someone would install my Bullet in place of the Cat, and I got stuck in a traffic jam from 419 to 17-92, and all the way down 436. When I got home I lifted the hood and coolant was flowing out of the reservoir, and all over the ground. I can't understand why my car can't sit in traffic for more than 20 minutes without getting to hot. Every time I drive my car for more than 20 minutes I can hear coolant bubbling inside the radiator hoses, but this time it decided to shoot out of the reservoir. I think I should get a coolant flush, and check to see if my fans are working. How can I tell if the fans are working? I have never heard any fan sounds since I got the car. Stupid a** Florida drivers!

if its cool when driving and hot in traffic sounds like something with the fans for sure.

with car on, turn on AC and pop hood and see if fans kick in.

I called a million places and they all said no, then I went up to Super Street a local performance shop and he referred me to 3 muffler shops, and all 3 muffler shops said no, then on the way home in the traffic jam I went to 4 other places which all said no. D*** Florida!!!

No I have never done a coolant flush since I got the car in February.

Should I go try that now, or wait a couple hours?

I have heard this place will do it

superior muffler on goldenrod and valencia college

from a local board, I was going to try there once my clutch problems were fixed.

Probably won't have much luck calling anyone even this shop. Its illegal to pull the cats on a car. We can get away with it in FL because we don't have inspections. You hvae to find a sort of "shady" shop to do it.

I guess let your car cool a little. If its overheating but try it later.

I think they will turn on even if you just go out, turn the key(not turn car on) and turn the AC on.

so if you have no AC, the AC switch is like a free radiator fan switch LOL

I turned the key to the on position but did not start it and put on the AC, the radiator fans did not do anything, I also moved the AC fan button to max but nothing happened. Do I have to completely turn on the car for the radiator fans to work or are they broken?

I turned on the car w/ the AC on and reached behind the radiator and felt air blowing on my hand, does that mean there working? BTW, I stuck my finger in a little to far because it is dark outside and the fan cut my finger a little bit. I'm a dumb***!

I just checked it again w/ a flashlight, and I saw both fans working great! Could they not be turning on when the AC is not on, or do I need to flush & burp the cooling system? Oh, one more thing this is the first time I ever turned on the AC in my car, and boy does it feel a million times cooler than my Mom's '89 Mercury!
