Now that the weather has cooled down I've noticed that when I give the engine more than 1/2 throttle or so when the engine is cold I hear a rattling noise and I can't figure out what it is. At first I thought it was my throttle cable and it had indeed came out of place but when I put it back in the engine still made the same rattle when it was cold the next day.
Just wondering if anyone else knows what this is or experiences the same problems? It doesn't seem to be affecting anything.
Strange you've mentioned this. The same thing is happening to me. Only when it's cold and it seems to be coming from the passenger side. Tonight at work, I had a guy see if he could tell where it was coming from but it was too hard. We may put it over the pit tomorrow and see what's up. I'll keep ya informed.

Does it Only happen when its cold? Or does it stop after the engine warms up?
IMO its never a good idea to push the engine when its cold, even at half throttle. When its cold here i always drive for a few minutes before i start to have a little fun. ;)
My does it without even pushing the throttle. I normally let it sit there and warm up, at first I thought it was something with the exhaust and then we noticed it was coming from the front. I noticed you have Loudmouth and a hi-flow cat, how's that sound, I've been thinking of that combination.

I think you guys are missing it. All fbodys rattle! More when they ae cold. I am assuming that it is coming from the inside of the car wher GM failed to find a decent way to fit plastic parts together. Now, of course oil does not flow as well when cold, and it is a good idea to let the engine warm up a bit before deciding to put your foot into it. I have noticed that I have a lifter that is collapsing at night and lets me know it when I start her up in the morning.
