i have got my car in last summer and since that i changed my own oil . i have always put 10w-30 castrol hi milage and k & n gold. but yesterday i had my oil changed at a shop. when i looked at the receipt i saw that the guy filled it with 5w-30 motor oil :( . i know i suppose to put 10w-30. Is it bad for my car? any possible damage? thanks.

well when i looked in my owners manual it merely sed for the V8 it recomended 5w and for the v6 10w but either works fineOriginally posted by '94firebirdv6:

Depends on how cold you are talking. In Maine, 5W is desirable when the temps go below zero. If you are talking like 30 degrees, 10W is fine.Originally posted by Need4Camaro:
