Where is the TPS located guys?? So confused.

Hi Guys:

Got a 99 camaro with 150k miles. All of a sudden when the car hits 40-60 mph and accelerator is pressed real lightly the thing starts stumbling and hesitating. as soon as you get to 60+ everything is normal. If you step on the gas hard you never get the stumble.

Its not the filter, its not the PCV, its not the coil, its not the plugs. Must be TPS I'm guessing.

So I call chevy and they said the TPS is on the accelerator pedal and I have to change the whole thing? But the repair book says its on the throttloe body.

Do u guys have any idea where it is and what my problem could be.

-monitors the position of your throttle angle, so go to your thottle body, it will be located along the outside side of your throttle intake plate. just follow that plates horizontal center back-bone and you'll find it.

In 1999 the L36 saw its first redesign since its introduction in late1995. A new intake manifold was introduced that was straight, not angled slightly as in earlier years. The cable-controlled throttle was replaced with an electronic "drive by wire" system. The new throttle plate opens and closes by way of an electric motor based on inputs from the TAC module, which reads pedal position and movement with three different sensors.


this is probably why the gm tech said something about the gas pedal.
