Okay, so I guess we have to cross out the Grand National, and Sy/Ty from the "American Muscle list"

Honestly - explain that logic. Does that mean civics with JRSC (roots style supercharger) kits are now american muscle cars?

I think he was just implying that people tend to associate turbos with imports and supercharges with domestic muscle cars.
If I had a 300 somethin horsepower firebird though, I wouldnt really care if it was coming from a turbo.

im not saying its wrong to turbo.and no the the g/n should be crossed off,all im saying is all the little ricers run around with their turbos and what not,and when someone looked at a v6 firebird, they think its wanting to be rice.

id call it rice if you just slaped a turbo on without knowing what youre doing, which seems to be common amongst the import crowd. but if you do it right there is no way in hell someone will look at your car and call it rice. and even if they do who cares theyre just mad your car is faster anyways.

Problems you face with a 3.4L its will be hard to tune.

you coudl get a FFF turbo kit, not sure if they have a direct kit or if they have to half fabb theres to work with yours.

what kind of end times are you looking to get?

my advice? **** it. 3.4's dont have the upgradablility that the 3.8's have (nor the power potetial in my mind. think Buick GNX) sell the *****, buy a cheap light truck and a 3.8 or a Z28/trans am. it'll be less headache to get parts and make the thing fast. and having another car is invaluble when the one you got is stuck on jackstands. thats just my opinion (its what i did earlier this year, bought an S-10 for 150, that didnt run, dropped about a grand on part

Unfortunately its not the same GNX motor....

From the sounds of it, you need to take it slowly. Learn some things, read about turbos, etc. You can't just buy a Vette motor and PCM and just 'plug' the whole thing in. It takes modifications. Start out with the basics, then maybe once your more expierenced you can go with a power adder.

yeah dude, if your willin to do the work, then by all means. im just sayin that in my mind, the time/money to power gains ratio weighs out against the 3.4... i like my 3.8 cuz it gets fast and it gets better gas milage and insurance ratings than the v-8s do. although you gotta deal with the look of disappointment in peoples eyes when they ask you if you got a 350 and you gotta say naw...
