• Anybody ever fix EGR problem on 3.4L

I know it was posted before but I don't think anybody ever found the problem. The SES light still comes on everytime I let off the gas at like 50-60mph and this gets anoying. Anybody else have the same problem Im having? Car is Auto.

Is the 3.4L a whole lot different than the 3.8L? Because if it is clsoe, I probably can answer most of your questions.

I might have two spares if you want them let me know. I bought a used, then put a new one in that cost me $250 just cause, what a kick in the groin. I regret it now cause I could've used a EGR simulator but never found info. on it.

Are you sure it was your EGR? could also be a bad coil/spark plug wire, but would need more specific details on how your car reacts.

Im more than sure one of the EGR's I have works I won't sell it since I can't 100% garantee it...but you can have it IF you need it, I have no use for it just sitting there.

I have tried everything from replacing the EGR to the pipe connected to the EGR...nothing has worked permanently.....I have not tried the coil packs....MY 3.4 seems to stumble a little when I floor it, no change in rpm and no sputtering but it feels like it pulls then backs off a little then pulls again.....any thoughts on that one?

my car had the same symptoms and it allways threw the solenoid 1 or 2 malfunction code, replacing the EGR with a new unit did not solve the problem

If it's the same thing that was wrong with mine, I had to replace the plugs and wires, as well as fix the EGR valve. But even though the car runs fine now, the SES light still comes on every once and a while, usually not till im above 40 mph. I think you might just have to live with the light. They don't call them "idiot lights" for nothing. :D

its just a computer glitch... i have had it for over 4 years now... if the light bothers you , pull it out, there isnt anything else you can do about it

i allways ignored the SES light anyway, if it ever did come on for another reason i would just have ignored it anyway, so i figure with it out it will keep my passengers from freaking out, and if there is something wrong with the car i would probably know about it without the light anyway
