  • Popping coming from the rear at low speeds...

It's just a noticable popping sound that sounds like a muffled ticking..pop pop pop pop pop... The faster I'm going when I let off the gas the faster it's pace is until the car slows down.
I can only hear it up to 30 MPH when I'm off the gas... and ONLY when I'm off the gas. Not even when I'm on the brakes. When I touch the throttle it's gone. When I'm going above 30 even when I'm off the gas it's null and void. What could this be? Should I worry?

Here's what I got so far...

Less Than 2K on Sentrac Shocks
About 3K - 4K on Poly Tranny Mount
    Less Than 1K on 245/50/16's

Would the new shocks cause this?

Could this just be noise from the driveshaft rotating since I have a poly mount?

I have no noticable lack of power...

Do you have drum brakes? If so, check that the springs are holding the brake shoes securely to the backing plates. I had a similar problem/noise on my old T/A after I swapped rearends. I went from drum to drum, but the springs were very weak and allowed the drum shoes to move inside of the rotor making a popping noise at low speeds.

Does it do it when you're turning a certain way? Mine does the same thing yours does, but only when I'm turning to the left

Mine has done that when I made a left turn but now it seems to always do it under 30 MPH...

Well, at least you found out what was doing it. What kind did you replace it with? Viper and I looked at my car on a lift, and from what we could see, it looked like there was some play in the differential gear

dude dont sweat it. i have the same sound you speak of. its your LSD and gears. if you change out your oil and put new oil plus the lsd additive from GM, it will sound quieter. its soppose to do that. if it bothers you turn up the volume.
