  • oil leak..?

I moved my car today and noticed I have an oil leak. YAY! not.. my step dad pointed it out.

My step-dads 97 Z28 leaks a little oil too. I havent had a chance to look where it's coming from.. But it's not a lot althought what I did notice was when in WOT my oil pressure was a little below 60, and when i checked the oil I didnt have much left..

Where is the most common place for an oil leak to take place..?

I normaly drive the car every day, but this week my girlfriend has been out of town and I havent gone out much.. Maybe it has something to do with it just sitting in my driveway? Maybe the oil plug in the pan isnt screwed in all the way?

I just changed the oil about ... 500 mi. ago..

MMMMMMM since it has only been about 500 miles or so since the oil change AND you just noticed the oil leak, you may want to check the oil filter to see if oil is coming from there.

In my 30 some years of changing oil, I had a bad oil filter one time. It had a bad flange and kept leaking no matter how tight it was.

Also sometimes the old gasket from the old oil filter sticks to the engine block. If it is not noticed when the new oil filter is put back on, it will leak.

    Just some pointers.

        I'm really confused..

It looks like oil on the ground yet when i opened up my radiator cap today it was not full! I checked my oil with the engine cold and warm and its full all the time!

I just got a intake gasket replaced to stop an anti freeze leak 2 weeks ago, and I dont smell any antifreeze under the hood, just the engine cleaner stuff I used that resembles the smell.

What could it be.. maybe I over-filled the oil and some leaked out because it had no where to go... but this doesnt explain that my radiator wasnt full of antifreeze when the car was cold..

My car leaks and leaked oil ever since i first got it. The first leak was from the oil pan asket. that blew. next the rear main seal is leaking. and i only have 34k on the car. i dont know what is up with the gaskets that GM uses, but they suck!!! Good luck
