  • Stupid power locks

My drivers side power lock button only works when I push it to lock the doors, but won't unlock them. My passenger's side works and will both lock and unlock.

Is there an easy fix for this or perhaps someone else has had this problem? It just all of the sudden stopped working one day. Thanks.

Switch broke. Common, not expensive at all and easy to replace. Look on ebay for a replacement switch.

Know where I could get instructions on how to replace it?

Once you take off that trim bezel it will be pretty obvious how it all goes together and comes off. This is a link that will show how to remove the bezel, clips and such, the guide is for an express down mod for the passenger window but you might find some tips in it.

Thanks a lot. Is the part that I'm looking for the actual button that I press down on or something else?

I ran into a similar problem with my lock switch so I took it apart and that's when I found out the switch was fine but the plastic button was cracked so even though I was pressing it it wasn't actually moving the switch. Poorly designed for the sake of a switch in my opinion.

Oh well that sounds like an easy enough self-fix. Maybe I'll have the same problem and avoid a new purchase. I'll take a look at it tomorrow, thanks. Gotta love GM and they're careful attention to quality.

I checked it out and i'm not sure what I'm exactly looking for. The little guide to the express window down showed how to get the module out but not the actual button.

Is there any more help anyone can give me? Thanks a bunch.

When you remove the bezel and unhook the electrical connector, you can pop it out. It may take a small flat head screwdriver to pop it out, but it will come out.
