on my way home from work today it was surging, a bit more than usual, the whole car started surging, then the SES light came on. now 1-2 shift is hard. 2-3 is as well though not as bad. and at crusing speeds the engine sits above 2k now instead of dropping to around 1.6k..
i know ive seen this problem on this board before but cant find it. any help would be greatly appreciated. Gonna get it scanned tomorrow.
I couldnt say exactly, but I bet that code scan will tell you pretty much what it is. Check spark on the plugs. I remember when one of my plugs when out bascially, that it had power surging problems, and made it shift hard just as a side effect. Goodluck,
yea I was thinking a Torque Converter problem. at least thats what it feels like.
grr, I gotta a long road trip coming up, I dont need this now... sigh, so how much is it to get a new torque converter installed, assuming thats the prob.?
yea, could be, either way, its going in the shop on tuesday to replace the valve body or whatever is usually done. plus I'm having him install the transgo shift and corvette servo while he's in there. $500...... ah well ill get those headers for christmas.
