  • well surging car has finally done it

on my way home from work today it was surging, a bit more than usual, the whole car started surging, then the SES light came on. now 1-2 shift is hard. 2-3 is as well though not as bad. and at crusing speeds the engine sits above 2k now instead of dropping to around 1.6k..

i know ive seen this problem on this board before but cant find it. any help would be greatly appreciated. Gonna get it scanned tomorrow.

I couldnt say exactly, but I bet that code scan will tell you pretty much what it is. Check spark on the plugs. I remember when one of my plugs when out bascially, that it had power surging problems, and made it shift hard just as a side effect. Goodluck,

Sounds like a torque convertor problem....at the very least its a tranny problem.

It might just be your TCC, there are other posts on here regarding that problem.
