friday morning i got in my car and it was having trouble starting. i would turn it on, and about 2 seconds later it would just die. after 7 times, it started fine and ran great all day. last night, i was going to go to a friends house and i was having the same problem. except it never started. after the 20th time it started to sound a little violent so i called it a day and gave up. i think its becuase the car is cold, its done it a few times but it always ends up starting. i cant wait until i get rid of this pile. i think it might have something to do with the engine not getting enough air, but im no expert. any ideas?

my car did that too... it would take a few trys to get it started and it would run rough for a few minutes.. but after that it was perfect.. until next time u go to start it.. it was fuel pressure regulator1999 Black Pontiac Firebird
2 Rockford Fosgate P312D4 subs
Hifonics Brutus 1205d amp
Clear Sidemarkers
18\" Arelli Jovan Chrome Wheels

if it was the starter, wouldn't it just not start at all? what happens is that the car starts fine then after a few seconds it dies. I've tried revving the engine and even throwing it in drive, trying to keep it from dying (I've done both of those before and it stopped it from dying). But alas, no luck.
also, bret you mentioned fuel pressure regulator. if the fuel pressure was really low, i.e. schraeder valve or fel cap was off, would this happen?

it doesnt make the fuel pressure low really... mine was normal... it just regulates the fuel it gets when u start.. at least i think thats what it does since it was fine after a few minutes... you said that revving it up kept it from dying? thats exactly how mine was.. i'm about 95% sure its the fuel pressure regulator.. its about a 30$ part.. i dont know how hard it is to do yourself.. i let a shop do it cause i was busy with summer ball... hope that helps1999 Black Pontiac Firebird
2 Rockford Fosgate P312D4 subs
Hifonics Brutus 1205d amp
Clear Sidemarkers
18\" Arelli Jovan Chrome Wheels
