Just replaced the battery on my key fob for the keyless entry system. How do I program the fob to my cars frequency?

It shouldn't need reprogramming if it's the one that came with your car. I've replaced my batteries numerous times and never had to program anything.95 Camaro 3.4L A4
Bosch plugs/MSD wires, K&N FIPK , Magnaflow catback, hi-flo cat, B&M Shift+, Dee\'s spacer
Kenwood KDX-859, eXcelon Amps, Infinity Kappa 3-way doors and Perfect10 sub
Behold, the raw fury that is known as the 3.4!!!

To get mine to work again after a battery change I had to hold the lock and unlock button at the same time near the car for 8 seconds. The car then beeped a resonse and the fob works fine.

When I bought a new remote for my car back in Aug of 2000, the reprogramming instructions told me to:
1- Pull the radio fuse out
2- Put the key in the ignition, and turn the ignition on/off three times without starting the car.
3- The third time turning the key, leave it in the ON position in the ignition (without starting), and you will hear the interior beep confirming.
4- Then hold the Unlock and Lock buttons on the remote for approximately 10-15 seconds. You'll hear the locks engage confirming the new program.
5- Replace the Radio fuse, and your done.
I think that was how I did it. I tried to memorize it the best I could, but then I was dumb enough to throw the instructions away. Hey, we're guys, we don't need instructions...right?
