Any good key shop can do it too. As long as you have an original that is.

10 dollers?? where were you gooing?? I'll find out where this place is, i'll post the number when i get it, cause they charge maybe 3 dollers a key with or with-out the black thinggy, but they need a key to copy so if u dont have the original dont bother going lol but yes, hes right, GM will in fact mail u a copy or two if u ask them, but they might charge u as well of course!

The security thing is actually a resistor. Put in the right key with the right resistor, and the right amount of electricity flows through the circuit, and the car will start. Put in the right key with no resistor (or the wrong resistor) and no eletricity (or the wrong amount) flows the circuit, and the car won't start.

I paid $30 for a replacement key from the dealer. I went to two locksmiths before that, and both told me only GM dealers have access to the blank keys.
