Im pretty sure that the 3.4L is stroked version of the 3.1.

      a 3.1L is a stoked 2.8L, a 3.4L is a bored 3.1L

so in reality... a 3.4L is a bored and stoked 2.8L.

no one makes or sells a kit, but that dosent mean its not possible, or you could just get the crank offset ground to 1.8" and get a set of custom rods made for your application with a 1.8" rod journal and you would gain few more cubes .. i cant remember what i calculated it to be , but i was thinkin it would take you to the 3.6 or 3.7L range , you might have to have the block clearanced for the rotating assembly also, im not sure , i never got that indepth with my research on the topic

and the 3.4L is more than just a bored 3.1L , its more like a resleved 3.1L also the block is tougher (external webbing for strength) , a 3.1L block can not be bored to a 3.4L (or so im told)

You would definitely have to notch the block IF you could do a stroker kit. I had to notch the block so that my rods would clear when I got the forged aluminum rods. A stroker would be all kinds of hassle.

The crank can be machined, but having machine shop experience. This is not such a good idea. It's not worth the little addition in displacement to "weaken" the crank. Removing too much material is not a good idea. It's like boring the block .60 over. Yes, it will give you a little more displacement, but it also can cause cooling issues as well as a junk block for a second rebuild. The increase is not worth the "weakening" of the block.
