Sorry to hear about the hood. Our computers do learn but they sometimes take a long time to forget. Anytime you do a mod that deals with the engine, reset the pcm. I helps the system learn faster and forgetting is immediate. I have heard differing opinions on how to do it, some say disconnectint the batter won't do it completely, that you have to pull the fuses. I have done both before and did notice when I pulled the pcm fuses the car was hard to start, I had to give it gas to start then it took care of itself. That tells me it really did forget everything. The times I just unhooked the battery, it started on it's own w/o any help from me.

Take that for what it is worth, but everytime I pull the pcm fuses and follow the directions on install university, I have to help the car start and it does seem to learn itself faster.

Worthless. Once the PCM is in Closed-Loop the PCM will adjust as fast as it needs to, whether you "pull the plug" or not.

hey what if I had the PCM reprogrammed at a dealership? Will it forget that and go back to original stock programming?

well I think I want it changed back. FirebirdGT I'll explain to you what was done and you be the judge. I complained of the Y87 throttle lag issue so he reprogrammed it so the throttle is a little bit mushier and I get better gas mileage. The car feels just as strong yet last time I was at the track I ran .4 worse. I'm thinking of changing it back, YET the weather was real bad when I went so...??? I dunno whether to keep what I have now or go back to stock programming.
