After sitting in the sun for a day or more, my firebird tends to have issues starting. I'll have to crank the ignition more than once to get the car going. The issue is nonexistent when the bird is parked in the closed garage.

I've noticed the same issue with my mom's dodge caravan, which is also model yr 1996.

Is there anything I can do about this? Or is this just a symptom of age?

Sounds like vapor lock to me. If you have bubbles in the fuel line from it being really hot, it is possible you will have to crank it a few times to get the bubbles out. Shouldnt be anything to be really concerned about.
