i gusse it would depend on how much water was in it,but the worst thing that could happen is that you would have to buy a new one.ill try to answer your question, im just a stupid kid( 14 ) though, so keep that in mind but water could, in theroy make the transmisson seize ( i think )just like in the engine, water isnt good for parts that NEED to be oiled/lubed ect.good luck.btw what exactly is the "crank sensor" is it something electical?gusseing by the sensor part it would lead me to think it was.

i had that same problem.. and my step dad is a muscler car dude, a purebreed engine builder as a hobby.

he kept telling me 'you messed up ur distributor!' and i would laugh at him and tell him he knows nothing about these new cars and all the electronics.. he bet me 10$ thats what it was.

then i poped off the fuse box and saw a 10A blown, little bitty fuse, replaced it and it cranked like a champ..

never trust a person who builds engines with 700HP for a hobby with a newer car, i thought it was funny =)

i dont know how much water was in it. he said a spoonful of water could turn the entire tranny fluid "white".

I dont know what a crank sensor is exactly (i think its called the crankshaft sensor to be exact) but all i know it that it wasnt sending spark to the distributor.

My mechanic hooked me up big time.

        this is what he did:

        towed the car in
        oil change and lube
        complete tune up
        tranny fluid flush and fill
        rear fluid flush and fill
        crank sensor
        fan belt

        all for just under $800.

normally, I could have done the easy stuff myself (belt, old change, tune-up) But the this dam NYS THEFT law requires I show receipts of all repairs I did on the car before I can register it.

dont ask me why the THEFT UNIT has to inspect a car that was in a flood.
