• Anyone ever change their fog lamp bulbs(93-97)?

I just lost my right one. Picked up the bulb yesterday... according to my Chilton's i have to get under the car and do some whacky stuff.

    Is it a big deal?

    Thanks.

If its like the 98+ cars you can more easily remove the headlamp assembly. Otherwise you'll need to unscrew some bolts holding on the plastic stuff under the car, swing down a flap or remove it, and swap the bulb. Its no big deal...

So you're talking about getting at it from the top? The problem is the 97- cars have the fog lamps in the middle of the car, not below the headlamps as in 98+

Yeah, apparantly theres no easy way to do it. I asked about it a little while ago, check it out:

There was one idea about changing them from the front in that thread, i'll have to try it when i finally get around to changing them.

          thanks man.
sounds like it's not something to look forward too unless you can do it from the front.

          one of the few times i wish i had a 98+ :(

as i said in the other thread:

quote:
i can change a fog on my 96 in about 10 min from the front of the car. next time i do so ill post some pics or something
look closely at the sides and pull out the small plack pins with a screwdriver or needle nose pliers, thats what i always do. also, dont touch the bulbs with your fingers or youll be replacing them again and again, its something with the oils in your skin that the bulb doesnt like.

You're talking about small black pins on the outside of the plastic casing? I haven't had a close enough look yet, because i've read and heard enough times that it was a total b%tch to replace...

I'll give it a shot this weekend.
