Well, if YOU would learn how to read, the original question is how much coolant to use when CHANGING it, which normally doesn't mean just the radiator. I guess you're right....when it comes to making an a$$ of yourself, compared to you I would be a rookie.

No, they're not gay. I don't have any beefs with them. It's just annoying to see someone sticking their nose in the air calling others "rookies" when you were the one who had no clue as to what you were talking about. Like I said before, he asked how much coolant to use when changing it, which usually means a system flush. I gave him the correct numbers, and then here you go waving your gay little flag around. Just make sure you know what you're talking about before you question others' intelligence. But the last few posts have done absolutely nothing to help anybody (which is the whole point of this posting thing), so once again, I'm outta here.

ok.. so then your still wrong....

yougave him roughly 11.6 quarts.. and nothing else.

if this is the case.. you'll need 5.8 quarts of Just coolant.. which is rediculous because dexcool is sold by the gallon. and its a 50/50 mixture of coolant and water. no way will you see me adding over a gallon of just coolant to the cooling system. i barely use coolant in my radiator cause just water happens to be more efficient. all dex cool really adds is that it will have a higher boiling point and a lower freezing point..

Thanks! I know it is a 50/50 deal, but only 4 quarts total? It seems like there would be more.

If you'll read the above, you'll see why I didn't tell him anything else. At that point he already knew the mixture ratio!

the radiator holds 4 quarts. 2 water, 2 coolant.. i just did a radiator flush about 2 months ago.

i drained the radiator.. ran the car a little.. drained more..

                  then flushed it..

                  drained flush out..

then added 2 quarts of water..then 2 quarts of dexcool.. and before i could get all 2 quarts of dex-cool in.. it was already overflowing./

then i started up the car.. let the water pump pump water throughout the engine.. opened up my bleeder valve, and waited on the thermostat to open. when the thermostat opened.. i topped of the radiator with water, capped the radiator, then let all the air go out of the bleeder valve.

                  thats all it takes..

dont sweat over the exact amount.. just top it off

Ummm....it is 11.6Q...says so in the owners manual. If you completely drained your cooling system this is how much it would take. I did it and was only able to get about 10Q back in the system...guess I didn't get all the old antifreeze out.
