  • Service Engine Light?

Ok, I dont understand this...after changing my plugs, my Service engine light came on..it backfired when I gave it WoT..then stalled...so I turned it off..made sure wires were in correct firing order...made sure boots were all the way down. turned the car back on,no more backfire..still stalls...engine light still on..so I back it out..and put the gas to the floor, and haul *** all over the place..finally light goes off..and I manually shift (its automatic) light comes back on, so I turn it off...let it sit for a bit, turn it back on, Light is gone...haul around a bit more, light comes back on, goes off..and now is finally off and I think its going to stay off..but anyone know what would cause this? I put in higher end plugs and wires..maybe the computer was adjusting? My car runs fine now..I'd just like to know what was causing it to be so wierd for a little bit there..any clues?

Did you checking the gapping of the plugs before you installed them?

There is no adjusting for higher end plugs or wires.

What is the code you are getting?

In most cases you shouldn't but it's always good to check!!!!!!!!!!

Welcome to the 3.4L SES club. I've been driving around with the same ones for 4 years!!! But, my problem is the EGR valve.

Is it idling rough? Does the whole car shake?

The next step towards solving this problem is going to be getting it scanned. I believe AutoZone does this for free. Your car stores the ten most recent trouble codes(somebody correct he if I'm wrong). I'd go get it scanned while they're still around.

              Good luck.

So the light is off now?

                And car runs fine?

Jsut #1 tip I can give for any SES, code, reset the PCM, then drive it hard for 10 minutes, no troubles form then on.

I think microsoft had hand in our PCMs.

Oddly enough as goofy as my car is, I rarely ever get SES codes *knock on wood*
