  • knock sensor need some help

    just got my car out of the shop from gettin tranny replaced i through a 0327 wich is a knock sensor low voltage.... wtf is this hurtin my performance or just a sensor??

    so you have an SES light on right?

    put a tank of 93 in........still there?

        Get some 92 octane gas in there Cody...if that doesn't cure it, you might try race gas, this is too check to see if it's knock in the motor. If it's still on, you could have a bad sensor or an unplugged sensor (maybe it was jarred in installation of your new tranny?), or it might be a bad tranny causing enough vibration that the sensors are picking it up.

          Unless I'm mistaken, P0327 is not because the engine is knocking, but because there's a problem with the knock sensor. I don't think higher octane gas will help, because the PCM isn't really using the knock sensors anymore.

            detonation will not cause ks low voltage. it will cause ks excessive activity.
            check ckt for knock sensor.
            check ks for proper installation torque.
            make sure knock sensor is PLUGGED UP.
            ASE Master, L1, X1, C1. Instructor in automotive systems. 99 3800 4L60E with a few mods and a greatful dead sticker on the back window.

              since the sensor is broke or whatever is it hurtin my performance at all and if so where is the sensor located so i can check it.

                located on engine block. threadded in. 1 wire coming out.
                sensor is most likely okay for that code. I'd check circuit first.
                ASE Master, L1, X1, C1. Instructor in automotive systems. 99 3800 4L60E with a few mods and a greatful dead sticker on the back window.
