So recently I have been going through spark plugs FAST!. I installed these Bosch Platinums about 4k miles ago and I have had this check engine light for the last little while. Everytime I had the codes scanned it said HIGH VOLTAGE FROM O2 sensors. I thought I had bad sensors. So I changed out my BOSCH plugs for some NGK tonight and the check engine light is gone and has been gone all night. After looking at my old plugs they are very black. Why do my plugs get black so fast? How is it possible for my plugs to set off O2 sensor codes? please explain this to me. What is wrong with my car?

With your setup, it sounds to me like you're running rich. You can try the "old school" approach an use hotter plugs. If that doesn't help, with your setup, I'd go ahead and invest in and autotap and maft+. Some people could probably get away with a MSD DIS-4 and some stronger coils to eliminate the problem you're having. I don't know with the work you've done though. Besides, the autotap and maft+ will probably help you get the most out of your setup anyway. Hope this helps. hi,
With your plugs being black, they are carbon fouled due to a very rich fuel mixture. Your HO2S sensors tell your pcm whether to make you fuel mixture lean or rich. With your heated oxygen sensors, are you pulling codes in bank 1 sensors 1 or 3,or bank 2 sensor 1? If it is bank 1 sensor 1 high voltage your code will be P0132, bank 1 sensor 3 high voltage is P0144, and if bank 2 sensor 1 high voltage, it will be P0152. These are GM codes from a Tech 2. I don't know if this autotap thing everyone talks about will give you those codes or not. If you can find out for me which one of those 3 codes it is, I can e-mail you a GM diagnostic check sheet for that code. This will help you fix the problem.

The Autotap allows you to pull codes, and yes you're rich... very rich it sounds like...
I hope you learn to change your underwear more than every 4,000 miles... sheesh :D

I just got code P0132 on a trip from Gainesville to Daytona. Can you email me this diagnostic sheet? Thanks.

If you have a power chip it makes you run richer, almost to the point of danger, if you have the chip try taking it out and see if that works. The +4 plugs are intended for supercharged cars tey run to hot for a NA cars, if they are in for to long they will burn your rings that comes straight from a friend that works for BOSCH. Check your Fuel pressure reg. the dia. might have a hole in it letting in to much fuel, and check your Engine coolant temp sensors they tell the car to riching up its cold in the engine bay. Hope this helps

There not +4 there just regular platinum. I am now running NGK and I have no power chip of any kind.
