  • upgrade CAT

    im looking to buy a high flow cat. anyone have any suggestions on one to get. also besides welding it in place is there any other mods or anything that goes into putting one into place
    k&n, flowmaster 80 series,wings west body kit, resonator removed, 180 therm.,carbon fiber,graphics, and a brand new 3.8 engine and tranny.<p><a href=\"http://members.cardomain.com/jbfirebird\" target=\"_blank\">http://members.cardomain.com/jbfirebird</a>

    not that i have one, but i hear that carsounds are good. but some people really like catcos, and others think catcos are chincy. haven't heard that kind of comment about carsounds, but i think they are substantially more expensive.

      I agree with that, but do a search, there will be a lot of info on what your wondering.

        carsounds are not expensive $35 ebay... performance peddler is the seller you want to find.

          what size would the inlet and outlet be on the cat for a 99 firebird 3.8. anyone know offhand?

            I'm almost certain that it's 3" in / 2.25" out.

            The carsound cats flow more air than the catcos. The catcos have cheap tack-welded heat shields. I ordered a catco from Summit a while back and immediately sent it back. Spend the extra $20 for a carsound and do things right the first time. It's a much better product.

              i agree if you NEED a cat go carsound, but i say run no cat if you can get away with it. Florida is pretty laxed on these kind of things.
