I'm getting new rims pretty soon, and to make sure I do it right, I wanna upgrade the rotors in the front, and replace the drums in the back with disc brakes. I know its do-able, I was just curious about how long the project will take for me to do it in my garage

How hard is it to convert my drum brakes to disc brakes?

Unless you're getting really big rims, there's really no use in unpgrading your brakes. If you are going to though, the front rotors are pretty easy and straightforward. Shouldn't take any longer than changing brake pads. As for drums, I don't know, but rather than upgrading them it's a better idea to just go to a rear disc setup.

The hardest part(s) will be pulling and setting up the backlash on the axles after the new disks are installed. I bought the whole assembled rear, so I didn't have to setup any kind of backlash.

by the way, does anyone know what those caliper line brackets are?

quote:
You must also ensure that you get the caliper line brackets to support the brake lines. They are NOT on a drum brake car.
