Ok, recently i went thru a puddle and my car freaked out, voltage dropped, abs inop, power steering went.
Anyways, next day, it drives fine except for a squeak. Which I was assuming was the wet belt. So i went and bought belt dressing. Shut the squeaking RIGHT up.
Now...I notice I have a whine from the engine, it varies with my RPMs. Sounds like a supercharger. A guy actually asked me if i had one. I was like....no.
Anyways..I open up the bay to see what it is. Pretty sure it is the alternator, BUT. I noticed that the pulley below the alt. stops at for a couple seconds. WTF.
is it possible i put too much belt dressing on? It lubracaited it too much and causes it to slip and stop spinning?
Should I just replace the belt and alt?
