unless he plans on a turbo in the future, I would do 3.73's. I upgraded to 3.42's and wish I had taken the next step to 3.73's.

What would performance differences be between stock (3.08's?) and 3.42's?

I've owned both 3.08's and 3.42's ... the 3.42's came on my RS and for me the difference was amazing. HOWEVER, If you're going to SPEND for gears, go 3.73's... best bang for the buck...

Will a High Flow Cat really toss an SES? arn't their some High Flow's that won't?

I heard any type of tampering with smog equipment (catalytic converter included) will make the OBD II go crazy.

unless you buy an after-cat o2 sim. Then the comp. will think everything is fine.

                        What about ignition upgrades?

Anyone recommend any wires or coils?

ignition is pretty advanced stock, I still have stock coils and wires.
