  • 3.8L V6... What kind of gains from these mods?...

    Well I wanted to push about 300 - 320 N/A if possible...

I already have CAI but thats not much.

What kind of gains would I get from the following?

    - Headers, HiFlow Cat, Full 3" Exhaust
    - Heads
    - Cam
    - P&P Intake Manifold (could you do the same to exhaust manifolds?)
    - Rebiuld and Bore to 3.9
    - Lighter / Better Pistons and Rings
    - Add a stroker crank, 4.1 stoker
    - More Fuel / Injectors...
    - Tuning
    - Elec Water Pump / Performance Alternator
    - 160 Degree Thermo / Man.Fan

What kind of power should I expect from all this?

Your neglecting your drivetrain, like many do. Throw 3.73/zexel, and a 3000 stall in there.

I was talking about HP not drivetrain, I already have 3.42's and those came from the factory so I really don't think I need to change that. But a 3000 stall would be nice... Whats zexel?

Zexel Torsen is a lsd, but you already have a lsd if you have the y87 package. With all that you probably could make 300 hp. BTW you COULD port your exhaust manifolds, but since headers are the same thing, just tubular instead of cast you can take it off the list. Really think more about drivetrain, get rid of that two-piece driveshaft and get a steel or aluminum one piece. People pick up quite a bit at the wheels just with a driveshaft.

i see you have added fuel and tuning which is good..just dont leave out the stronger suspension mods you'll need to support this power..torque arm with poly mount, poly tranny mount, LCAs, sub frame connectors, maybe a pan hard rod..i was only putting out about 260 - 270 to the wheels and i went through 3 stock tranny mounts in one season before finally upgrading to poly..you'll want that driveshaft too which i also have..good mod for the money..if you can fuel it, tune it, and support it, 300hp NA would be sweeeeeeeeet

Yeah because I mainly wanted a N/A car because I'm just not much a fan for power adders, I like the fact that they are fast but I just hate the fact that I have to depend on something to achieve my power...

With all this would I be needing 91 octane?

Are there any larger intake manifolds / TB's for the 3.8?
