so I'd like to swap from my v6 gauges to a z28 gauge cluster (I know it has been done)...as long as I use the same year cluster everything should work perfect except the tach, which needs to be modded...can someone give me specific instructions on how to do this?
also does it matter if it comes from an A4 or M6 car?
I used the whole cluster from a 97 Z, and corrected the speedo and tach with the Jet SCU2000 and a computer modifications, which are on my sig.

Man, what is the big deal with people asking the same questions?. I think they should just be anwsered and everyoneshould just go on to the next one. No reason to smart off to people.

Just make sure you tell them that its for a 4th gen camaro that uses the 1-5V tach signal....otherwise it won't work.

Interesting you say that..Maybe that is my problem?
I ordered the SGI-8 from them, and I hooked it up, but my tach does not function now. I tried all the different modes,, v6, v8 etc..Nothing got the tach to even move. I tested it, and am getting a steady 12 volts, so it's getting power. Will I need to send it back for a different one? I would think universal is universal..

I did. Everyone just says there is some capicator or resistor that has to be changed, no specific answers...I never post a new thread without having searched first.
I think I am going to look into the jet scu2000. anyone know where I can get one for cheap that will work on my 97? but I think I remember hearing it was only for automatic cars?
