• Codes and another problem

Here's my situation, sometimes when I'm trying to take off fast, my car kind of stutters, coughs--(only when I'm trying to take off fast). If I kinda feather the clutch a bit and give it a little more gas than normal I can take off fine. I've had my SES on and went off and then came back on, this happened for about a month and a half. I wasn't too concerned because last time I went to the dealer, they told me my SES was on cuz of an O2 Sensor. I finally got a hold of a scanner and here are my codes: P0138 & P0155...would having these codes cause the way my car reacts when I try to take off fast? Any suggestions on how to fix this?

I just had this problem. Under heavy acceleration, the engine stutters and coughs? Check the following:

Fuel Pressure Regulator (for leaks and such)
Fried spark plug wires

Allright, I'll look into those things. Thanks for the feedback. Did you happen to fix your problem?

Yeah, unfortunately it happened when I went home to Vegas for the weekend from college. I had to get back up to college right away, so I put it in a shop.

654 BUCKS!!!!

I could've gotten it myself, but it would've taken a whole lot longer and I would have missed several days of classes.

Oh well, it's just money. :D

However, I only got misfire codes from my problem, so yours might be a little different. Just make sure you check everything with fuel deliver (fuel line, pump, pressure regulator) and all electrical that has to do with igniting the gasoline in the chamber (plugs, wires, maybe even the ignition coil).

Hope it helps!

from my 99 manual i get p0155 ho2s heater performance bank 2 sensor 1. i didnt have the other listed...p0138 hi voltage post converter sensor.

these are not the likely problems. sounds as if you are running too rich maybe. my first thoughts are TPS, MAF, possibly EGR (but not as likely) and maybe ECT. as mentioned above it could be a problem with fuel press regulator but you would probably see some pre-cat codes then as well.
