• well this sucks

car is at the auto body shop from the accident saturday night. they are going to have to replace the passenger door, front quarter panel, entire nose piece, and the front right wheel. total for all that was $2860, covered by the other driver's insurance. but they found some busted connecting rods and stuff, so the appraiser has to come back tomorrow. however, i was there today and they were showing me how bad other stuff is on the car, apparently it had been in a few accidents before i got it and whoever fixed it did a really sloppy job. the frame is twisted up in places and they quoted over $1500 to fix it. he even told me if it was him he wouldn't put a lot of money into the car. o well, it's been like that since i got it last summer, and it hasn't been a problem, and you can barely even notice that the quarter panels and headlights don't align exactly.
so i guess i'm screwed if i ever try to sell it to somebody who knows to check from frame damage

Can you tell the appraiser that the damage from a previous accident was caused by this current one? Maybe you can get away with it and have that other dude's insurance fix your car completely

Yeah screw em!! You pay every month hundreds of dollars to these agencies. Then when you need em they give you a hard a$$ time. So I say it's payback time. Sqeeze em for all they've squeezed from you. Tell the auto body shop to go along w/ you and say the car is totalled due to the frame being bent and have them pay you your car. Then take that cash and get a brand new one. It's payback time!! ;)

Insurance won't pay to fix the old stuff. They will be able to tell that it was poorly repaired once before. Or they will do a insurance claims check on your car and find out that it was in a previous accident. I wouldn't try to screw them because it is easier for them to screw you.
