haha, you can't do much about our sucky computers. you can buy a maf transaltor plus that you can control the air to fuel ratio with but as far as complete pcm's--you're screwed. talk to magnus about pcm reprogramming. i think a while back he was trying to make some sort of program to make our computers work under heavier than stock loads--but i don't know how or if it turned out.

No computer reprogramming software or hardware so far, and no aftermarket PCMs. Email Magnus and BATMAN for some info on people that can can do custom ($$$) PCM programming for you. Magnus is working on PCM reprogramming himself. BATMAN is is developing a supercharger kit and having custom reprogramming down to his PCM for it.

MAF Translator+ allows adjustment of the A/F ratio and, I believe, timing. This topic actually belongs in Advanced Tech, but don't worry abou it. Also try doing a Search in Advanced tech and you'll find lots of good info.

It is possible to buy standalone PCM's but as far as I've ever known they have always tended to be expensive and usually not worth it. Especially since your just putting in a 3.8L and not a big block or small block engine, no disrespect intended but I don't think that it would be worth it in the end compared to the overall costs/benefits. Tons of companies sell such equipment, one such is accel, holley, etc. Do a search on summit racing and jegs website for computers or PCM's or look in their catalog for them. They aren't cheap but you get quite a bit of flexibility and tuning capabilities. Just keep in mind the overall price and then add some to that total. The best course would probably to get a PCM that was designed for our cars and that specific engine. You can usually buy these used, I would try that way first since it would be easier and cheaper. Plus your not making a high HP/torque engine that would need a better/higher grade/upgraded/aftermarket PCM/computer management system. You could also look for ones that will directly connect with you current PCM and go from their. It's your choice but keep in mind how much money you are going to spend overall. Good luck.
