  • What the hell is that rattle?

So I'm driving down the road, and ever time the bass hits something in th drivers door rattles?? Sounds like it is down close to the door speaker. I haven't taken the door apart yet. But any ideas?

Yeah, ur speaker is going bad. Same thing is happening in mine, If u still have stock head unit, turn down the bass nobs closer to the middle. Basically, u blew out that part of ur speaker, the lows. Turn off ur bass and listen, it wont happen.

Mine do the same thing and all I have to do is take off the door panel and tighten the bolts that hold the speakers in place. Off course this only lasts for a few months and the rattle returns.

It's not a blown speaker, it sounds like metal, maybe even the window glass, vibrating against something metal????

I had this on one of my rears, I fixed it by pulling the speaker cover, seeing it was buzzing/rattling metal on metal because it was mounted strangely... shoved some foam inbetween and perfect. Drivers door speaker I have to do this with too. Also could have fxed it by adding another screw or two to holddown the speaker, but there was nowhere for them to catch.

yeah tighten the screws i put a little tape on mine so they dont back out anymore but i had the problem with my middle speakers. If that doesnt work only other thing i canthink of besides new speakers is dynamatt stuff that reduces vibrations. hope that helps

Tightening does not always work, both of mine had fallen apart.

the speaker coil could be going. that will cause a rattling noise as well.
