don't know what's wrong!

for the past two weeks my car has been running like crap, it has been misfiring when i give it gas and it feels like i've lost a lot of horsepower, the ses light came on and said cylinder three misfire and I also pulled a p1406 code (egr valve spindle position circuit or something like that) so , i went through, put new plugs, wires and even a new coil (for the three and ? cylinder) and the car still runs bad. it feels as if the motor has no horsepower, my friend told me to take it to the dealership and they can do a scope test ,or something like that, which will tell me compression and everything else i need to know to diagnose it, only thing is that it costs over a hundred bucks, thought i might ask for your help or suggestions first before i go give the dealership more of my precious money....

I would suggest testing your TPS Sensor with a multimeter. If you do not have one, you should be able to take it to Autozone and have it checked.

If this is not the case, try switching the new coil pack to the other 2 positions to see if that helps.

Keep in mind also that it could be an ignition control module which is what the coil packs mount to.
