  • will digital odometer work in my car?

I own a 96 V6 firebird with regular number odometer. I want to upgrade to the 155mph gauge cluster, but the only one I can find looks like it has the digtal read-out. Will this work in my car? That would be cool if I had digital read-out. I can post a picture of it if it helps.... how do you post pictures?

If I remember right, no it will not. There was a lot of talk about this a while back. Try and search for this.

Do a search for this under digital gauges or gauge replacement or such terms as this. I know that somebody has done this, either replaced the whole dash cluster or just added single digital gauges with multiple options that come with this digital gauge. Thier is one gauge that I have seen that has a odometer, speedometer, tachometer, trip odometer, etc. It has been done before. If I remember right part of what was needed was to connect to the VSS (vehicle speed sensor) at least for the gauge I mentioned.I'm not positive if you just want a didgital odometer but if you want an all in one type of gauge then you can connect through the vss and have it still transmit a signal to the PCM while at the same time sending a signal to the digital gauge. Do a search in the various forum rooms, check out the appearance forum also as well as this one because I think that it may have originally been posted there. Let us know what you find out. I'll see if I can find the information. I saved it a while ago on my old hard drive. Email or post me if you have any questions. Take care and good luck. Let us know how it turns out.
