  • coolant system flush probs

i just bought my 97 3.8L camaro, and it had never had the coolant flushed, 64k kms, and it had a load of sludge in the whole system, so today, i flushed it, using the prestone additive flush system, and then multiple water flushings, but the gunk is still stuck onto the inner sides of the radiator, its brown, and very sludg-y... is the only thing to do is have the radiator proffesionally flushed, using hi pressure stuff... or is there a simple answer to this problem

    thanks
    ian

You can take the radiator out and go to a shop to have it cleaned, but I would run another bottle of prestone cleaner through it to try to get the rest of the slugde out. That gunk is a PITA! I have it on the inside of my overflow tank, and can't seem to get rid of it   I can imagine what the internals of the engine looks like  I's probably loaded with that crap.

Get a good flush through it again, refill with the 50/50 mix. You should be okay then...
