Yes...lights behind the gauges are 194's and the lights behind the A/C controls are 74's.

pull the shroud off ( literaly its held on by metal clips just yank )

then youll need a few sockets on a screwdriver type thing of course. then... umm I think thats about it. and a screw driver..

          take off the plastic face.

Pull the Guage cluster out. and I found it easyest to use needle nose pliers on the things that hold thebulbs because it just was =).

If you've painted your interior (including the gauge cluster bezel), I sugguest dropping the steering colum to prevent scratching the paint. If you haven't painted the interior yet, nows a good oppertunity. To drop the column, there's a few screws under the dash where your knees go. Take them out, and that panel should fall down. Then there are two nuts holding a triangular brace around the colum, take them off, then take the nuts off that are holding up the column. Two minues of work that will make your life easier. Take the two bolts (7mm I think) out the gauge cluster bezel and then just pull it towards you. It has 4 aluminum prongs that hold it in place. Then use the 7mm socket to take out the 4 bolts holding the gauge cluster in place. Pull it directly toward you, it will pull right out, 1 big assembly, and it's very easy to put back in. You can take the gauge assembly apart at this stage if you have an air bag light, that stays on all the time, that you wish to fix. Take out only the large bulbs, there should be like 7 or so, I can't remember. I just painted mine with high temp engine paint. I was goin for orange, but it glows red. Since you have a Firebird, I'd guess that you don't want red anymore, so you are gonna have to buy bulbs. Then just reverse the process.

These steps are for a Camaro, I don't think the Firebird will be too different, maybe just the steps up to pulling the gauge bezel. Oh well, hope this helps some. Have fun.
